"For books are more than books,
they are the life, the very heart
and core of ages past." Amy Lowell
My Library is for my historical and academic pursuits.
"[O]ur attempts to see and to find the truth are not final, but open to improvement;
that our knowledge, our doctrine, is conjectural; that is consists of guesses,
of hypotheses, rather than of final and certain truths; and that criticism and
critical discussion are our only means of getting nearer to the truth."
- Karl Popper, Conjectures and Refutations
Here you will find the books I have written as well as the books I have acquired
for my collection from other citizens.
"Any physical theory is always provisional, in the sense that it is only a
hypothesis: you can never prove it. No matter how many times the results of
experiments agree with some theory, you can never be sure that the next time
the result will not contradict the theory. On the other hand, you can disprove
a theory by finding even a single observation that disagrees with the predictions
of the theory." -Stephen Hawking, A Brief History of Time
Please feel free to browse! Here you will also find a collection of post that
I have made to historical and academic boards.
"Men will wrangle for religion:
write for it: Die for it: anything but -
livefor it!" - C.C. Colton, Lacon: Reflections. No. 25.
I find most interesting:
"For the scientist who has lived by his faith in the power of reason,
the story ends like a bad dream. He has scaled the mountains of ignorance;
he is about to conquer the highest peak; as he pulls himself over the final
rock, he is greeted by a band of theologians who have been sitting there
for centuries." - Robert Jastrow, God and the Astronomers
My particular historical interests in Egypt are....
To solve the ten unsolved problems throughout history, which I feel are:
1.I would like fo find the ARK OF THE COVENANT.Back in 1966 I had a Sunday
School teacher that sixth grader, me, rebuked, when she stated that "the end
of the world would be when the ark is discovered." (Obviously long before
Indiana Jones!)
2. Whatever the paws of the GREAT SPHINX at Giza holds, and hopefully it
will be "those illusive scrolls!"
3. A pharaoh who actually made it back from the dead (save cryogenics)and
from life eternal, to set us all straight!
4. + 7. A sign from Cleopatra to clear-up any questions that we have with
regard to her. (7.) Cleopatra and her boyfriend's untouched crypt, intact!
5. Information as to why such an advance civilization as those of the
Egyptian ancients as to why this all abruptly came to a halt...
6. The first born of Pharaoh, of whom met a horrific death and the full
details of his demise. (I know what Kent Weeks said in his book regarding
this, but I still can wish, can I not?)
7. (see #4).
8. The body and entombment of MOSES.
9. The same for JOSEPH., as well as his famous multi-colored coat.
10. Any proof (or disproof) of a connection with:
a.) the Central American Civilizations.
b.) the connection to "the face on Mars" and Cydonia.
c.) Atlantis.
d.) or other civilizations of this nature.
Lastly, I still believe that there was a great deal of water surrounding
the Giza plateau, which was origionally on an island...and I would like
to see if this would have held true!
YOUR TURN!
