Nars were minstrels and a key part in the growth and development of Sumerian literature. Some may have gone to the temples to oversee compositions, oversee singers and musicians and conduct the cult litergies. Others may have gone a different route and found themselves in the palaces in order to train and instruct singers and entertainers.
