This is an interactive alternate history novel set in 1500 ab Urbe Condita--approximately 750 AD our time. History has taken a different course: the spirit of scientific experimentation flourished under the aegis of the Ionic school rather than being overshadowed by the concept of 'ideals' and 'unchanging matter'. Slowly the theory of empirical science gained the upper hand and Roman engineers pushed their technology to the point that the Empire was able to stave off the barbarian invasions and extend Rome's boundaries further than Caesar ever dreamed of doing.

The world is divided among the Seven Great States: China, Rome, The Toltecs, The Mayans, The Incas, The Confederation (a loose grouping of various North American tribal groups) and Azania (the united kingdom of the Africas).

Rome is on the brink of expansion again, looking across the Atlanticus to Terra Nova's wide and empty spaces...will she rule the world now that she has begun using the powers of steam and black powder...?
