The 2007 BEST PLACES IN ANCIENTWORLDS Contest
February 1 , 2007 at 00:00 to March 31 , 2007 at 23:00 EST
There are "best homes" at AW, but even bigger, there are BEST PLACES TO
LIVE. A contest to celebrate the best of the 'hoods!
A special annual contest JUST for 'hoods within our Ancient Worlds. For the first time since 2004, a contest where Worlds win!
This contest is for those 'hood heads or 'hood builders who wish to nominate their own 'hoods in the competition.
If you see a great 'hood that should be nominated, you can also nominate it at the Best Places in AncientnWorlds thread under AncientWorld Celebrations.
ENTRY DEADLINE: MARCH 25, 2007.

BEST PLACES OF ANCIENTWORLDS CONTEST
Contest Rules and General Information
-
A Gold, bronze and silver medal will be given to the three worlds winning with top votes for the best development of a given ‘hood, based on the following criteria, all of which are equally important. Those 'hoods that don't qualify for the top three awards, but still reflect the excellent qualities we are looking for, will be given their own special award.
- The hood must include districts: you can nominate the entire 'hood (for example, Carthago Novo) or simply a district of Carthago. However, more credit will, of course, be given for a whole hood that is developed.
- The text in the ‘hood should reflect the history and culture of the hood, and the districts should show some character on their own (i.e., all the ‘hood districts have some personality or historic information which separates them from each other)
- Bonus points will be given for ‘hoods with citizens who have posted on and are active in that given ‘hood;
- Bonus points will be given for creative visual design, especially if that design says something about the culture and identity of the ‘hood.
- Bonus points will also be given if articles attached to the ‘hood expand upon its history or culture, or if creative use of properties (i.e., shops, public buildings, etc.) expand upon life activities in the ‘hood.
In short, we are looking not only for attractive hoods that teach us something about the city and its culture, but for ‘hoods whose leaders have gotten citizens active in the hood discussions, parties, or other activities.
If you've signed up on the contest thread as a 'hood head or 'hood builder (OFFICIALLY, mind! In other words, your name shows up as one or the other at the 'hood URL), you can win some site currency, but the glory of the contest is in the Winning Entries.
Good luck!
