Sign-Up time ends tonight, 11 pm EST (23:00 AW-time)
( * Topiltzin Tupac - Jun 23, 2007 - 16:50 )
Dear contestant-Wannabees-Who-Have-Not-Signed-Up-Yet, Aynara and I have decided that the Sign-Up time for the contest ends tonight, 11 pm EST (23:00 AW-time), so that we will have time to set up the fight pairs, codings for posting the results of the fights and other such administrative work, in order to get the fights running smoothly. So, do not hesitate anymore, but sign-up now! (in case someone(s) of the sign-up fighters cannot appear at 4 PM (until about 6 PM), we may pick up a fill-up fighter from the crowd watching, but that is only to get a pair for all fights)
CONTEST DESCRIPTION AND RULES:
Hand-to-hand combat, South American style!
What Is Tinku? Tinku is one of the oldest celebrations in South America. The word tinku comes from the Quechua language and means encounter or meeting. This "encounter" was a form of ritual combat between aylluses, or communities. Its purpose? The blood of the fighters was considered an offering for Pachamama, the Mother Earth, to ensure female fertility and abundant crops.
How To Play
