LOUIS XIV (1643~1715)

In the latter part of the 17th century, Louis XIV had a Labyrinth constructed as a part of the gardens of Versailles.

The maze included 39 groups of hydraulic statuary representing the fables of Aesop. Each of the characters who appeared to be speaking emited a stream of water, representing speech.
