"The Blue Danube"... "Tales of the Vienna Woods"... These musical sketches conjure up an image of what the area around Vindobona must have been like nearly 2,500 years ago. Dense forests, filled with game and a clear, clean river with an abundance of fish. Several Celtic tribes settled in this area. The Tauriscii, Boii, Cotini and Volcae Tectosages, all called this part of the Danube Valley their home.
Vindobona was another of the major Celtic hillforts and settlements on the trade rout that ran through the valley. What goods might have passed through here? What was the local hostel like? What did the people do, besides fight off the marauding barbarians?
Come to Vindobona and bring this settlement to life. Potters, Farmers, Herdsmen, Fishermen, Metalworkers... all crafts are needed.
