Poet Laureate Competition
This competition will run from May 1, 2004 until July 1, 2004.
The competitor must submit two poems. The choice or categories are:
1) Song Lyrics: write your poems as if setting the words to music. The competitor has the choice of subject and may indicate the music they had in mind when writing the poem.
Or
You are your favorite poet. Submit a poem on any subject written in the style, subject matter or mood of your favorite poet. Identify the poet that has inspired you.
2) Free form category. You choose the subject and how you will write the poem.
Rules:
1) The poems submitted to the competition must be original and not posted at The Tenth Muse prior to the competition. A similar subject can be used.
2) Indicate the category in the poem body or heading.
3) Submit only two poems for the categories you prefer. Do not submit a third poem. If more than two poems are submitted, only the earlier poems will be considered.
Prize:
The winner will receive a plaque and be receive the title and position (level 5) of Poet Laureate for a term of six months. At then end of the time period, a new competition will be held for the position.
