The longship is one of the defining symbols of the Vikings, and it was their ships which made the Viking expansion possible and ensured it was so widespread and far ranging.

From North America to the great rivers of eastern Europe and from the Arctic Circle to north Africa, the Vikings sailed to lands never seen by Europeans before, to raid, trade and settle.

This board is for all aspects of their various ships - war ships, raiders, transports and traders - and the folklore and archaeology surrounding these remarkable vessels.
