Work in Progress
(Note: "Gothic" here does not mean "Gothic" as everywhere else in my writings and has nothing to do with it, it's just a coincidence. I feel stupid for having to explain it, but you never know.)

Little-known to the world, Altichiero da Zevio is the greatest Gothic painter of the second half of the 14th century in Italy and possibly in Europe. He is quite well documented. His career however is inextricably entwined with that of a far more shadowy figure named (usually) Iacopo Avanzi, a brilliant artistic personality who only recently has begun to receive the true recognition he deserves.

This article will list the extant documents and attributed works of the two painters, and a bibliography. It will also present a necessarily limited gallery of their works.
