Hellas Holiday E-Card Center
Thanks to all of you for helping us make the Hellas Holiday E-Card Center a rousing success! Many of us enjoyed both making and sending these e-cards. For those of you interested in numbers, 71 people sent a total of 205 cards!!

Many thanks to Alerissa Nestor for organizing this wonderful project!! Apparently, she wasn't driven insane enough with the holiday center & she is making noises about creating a general e-card center. Please let any of Hellas's scribes if you want this to happen and/or are interested in creating cards for this new project.

The Museion on Delos

Kallistos Alexandros has been a very busy man lately with his project, The Great Museion on Delos. The Museion is made up of four great halls - one each for Egypt, Mesopotamia, Hellenes & Rome. According to the site's main page, "each of these halls displays the arts of its culture. Sculpture, painting, literature, architecture, and the minor arts are all represented. Each great hall has its own members hall wherein members of Delian Dreams may contribute images, text, or links appropriate to the area."

Archeological News

Foot returned to Athens
Heidelberg University (Germany) will be returning a portion of a frieze that was on the north wall of the Parthenon. This is the first time that any of the sculptures from the Parthenon that were taken from the country that has been returned to Greece. For more information.

Dig Keros!
The Greek Isle of Keros will soon be the home to archeological digs to discover more information about the Cycladic flat-faced marble figurines the island is known for. Archeologist will try and figure out why this small, nearly barren island was so important since it is surrounded by larger, more hospitable islands. For more information.

Major quake rocks Greece
While this is not ancient news, it’s important news. Greece experienced a 6.7-6.9 magnitude undersea quake Sunday, January 8. All of Greece was shook by the quake, but no major injuries or damages were reported. For more information.

The scribes of Hellas will be very busy soon, as they begin to plan a festival to show the AncientWorlds what Hellas has to offer. If you are interested in lending a hand, drop one of them a note!
