Ahhhhh, summertime! Our last ACTA edition was May 15th and covered the site-wide activities of Springfest, '05. Now, we've had six relaxing weeks in which all worlds were active in a relaxed fashion while we take our usual "summer break" before activities heighten as fall approaches.

2005-06 ACTA DIURNA - Positions Open!

The editorial staff of the ACTA is planning for the upcoming year's activities. Laurels Curius will assume the position of Editor-in-Chief, assisted by Heraklia Aelius, as assistant editor (well, that makes sense - Laurels' drive has helped make the ACTA what it is!) Almost all world editors are looking for volunteers to work with the next year's edition. Interested in helping? All it takes is a few agonizing hours of your month (just kidding - well, maybe not) to write up the events of your world. Contact the current editors if you are interested in participating next year!

Role-Play Update

It's time for our roving "Historical Fiction" reporter, Maria Marius, to give us another update of just what's going on in the numerous fictional stories in development throughout AncientWorlds. Check Page 2 of the Global edition for details!

Technical Bugs

We're aware of our patient members working through the recent glitches in log-ins and are grateful for your understanding. AW has sometimes seemed caught in a "perfect storm" for the past two months - occasional problems with our own server mixed with a series of security patches with Internet Explorer that can only be fixed on THEIR end. Apparently, using either Opera or Firefox works well in bug-fighting, but we'll keep you posted on developments. The Divine Jot has been working on the problem, but some of our technical issues apparently derive from dear Bill Gates. Thanks for your patience!

Hunting AW Gems

A committee has been formed to work on gathering highlights of each world's history (tours, events, historical presentations, and more) over the past several years. Almost every festival comes up with enduring historical events that deserve to be permanently listed in one place, and we plan a home-page link that will make navigating to special events much easier for the average member. If you want to help with the hunt, contact Heraklia Aelius!

Visitor's Guide

Work is also underway to complete the AncientWorlds guide to site-wide resources, familiarly known as the "Newbie Guide." We understand that, for a newcomer, there is so much to see and do at AW that it can be intimidating. Under the leadership of Sankira Qin and others, we hope to see the Guide to AncientWorlds develop by sometime this fall!
