My ancestors of the Clan Mulrian or Ryan as they are known today hailed from the province of Munster.
I salute the Munster province and the many clans that lived amongst its hills and glens. Munstermen have throughout Irish history been hailed for the courage and faith. Brian Boru, the High King of Erin hailed from the Dalcassian clan of Munster. Does anyone have a bit of Munster history to share? My clan came with the Sons of the Mil to the shores of Erin. My people settled in the south with Eremon, and the bard Amergin. Warriors, Kings, Druids, Priests, and men of learning have come from my clan. I have researched my heritage where i can. My father and grandfather do not share my love of our heritage unfortunately. I would love to discuss Munster, Irish history, or Clan history with anyone who will. Clan Mulrian or Clan Ryan as it is known today is known by the familiar device of three silver Griffon's heads on a field of red. Our clan motto is: Malo Mori Quam Foedari. Translated from Latin it means: I would rather die than be dishonored. It has been my experience that this is true. My greatgrandfather, Daniel Joseph Ryan came to America with his father at the age of 12. Since then much of what my family remembers of our history has been lost. I work to reclaim it and research my geneaology. If you can in any help, i will be eternally grateful.
