A Lurking Danger....

Ghosts, Goblins & Witches beware....
There is something more frightening than a monster's stare.

It comes when it wants to,
It comes when it dares.
So don't even think of trying to find it's lair.

It lies in waiting for anyone who comes near.
It stays silent so no-one will hear.

A blink of it's eyes and a twitch of it's tail,
this attempt at stalking it's prey cannot fail.

It's getting ready to pounce,
It's getting ready to run.
Just a little bit nearer and the deed will be done.

A movement in the shadows has startled the prey,
to turn around and stare at it with dismay.

Out of the shadow the danger jumps,
coming down on the grass with a very loud thump.

A child in costume giggles with glee,
"Tag, you're it. You can't catch me!"
