Much has happened in Egypt World since last issue of the ACTA hit the e-shelves. Its fortunes have continued to wax lyrical in post
and deed. The somnolent summer has seen not only the formation of new groups but also new cities and their regions, long in the planning,
have made their presence felt. Their unveiling earlier in October happened to great fanfare and excitement. And more is in the offing...

The winds of change have not forgotten Egypt World indeed all of Ancient Worlds in this month of November.
The Black Land will shortly see its inhabitants scrambling over themselves to secure prime pieces of real estate in Egypt's new Places.
It is whispered in the mudbrick mansions of millions of years the length and breadth of Kemet that this pleasure awaits the denizens
of Ancient Worlds sometime in December. Crepuscular Rekhmire of Netjer Inc. advises citizens to adhere to a daily login regimen in order to build
up their coffers as, in his immortal words, "Prime necropoli wait for no man!" Be advised, ye adherent of the ancient ways!
As there are grains of sand in the Red Land, so are there a multitude of Places in Egypt fit to lay down one's welcome mat.
For the discriminating mudbrick dweller, opportunities abound to ally oneself with not only with a geographic place but also a period in
Egyptian history. Whether from the dawn of recorded history in Nekhen
and Abedjou, or from Old Kingdom's
Mennefer "City of White Walls",
to New Kingdom Waset and the cultus of Amun-Re,
from the hybrid city of ancient Alexandria where
dynastic Egypt came to an end, to Per-Bastet which
the Greeks would later call Bubastis, to Zau amongst
others, the ides of November will witness the integration of Ancient Worlds citizen and Place.
It is heard too that The Scribe's Palette is gearing up
to host the Golden Brush Awards. For those not familiar with this contest, the Golden Brush Awards is a quarterly writers competition
that seeks to recognise and reward those Ancient Worlds writers who excel in the areas of poetry, journal writing, historical and
roleplay posting. Discovered a talented writer here at AW? Written some mind-bending posts designed to intrigue, instruct and/or entertain? Bared
your soul recently in a journal entry? Here's your opportunity to submit your favourite written work or the work of others and read what has been
submitted thus far. Contest results will be posted in the Egyptian World News section next ACTA issue and in the group's entrance.
Good luck to all participants!
Two new groups have come into being in Egypt since the ACTA's previous issue. Warfare in Ancient Egypt is a platform for the discussion of warfare in ancient Egypt covering everything from the
foundations of the army to the campaigns of the New Kingdom, foreign policy, military leaders and tactics amongst other topics.
Battles such as that of Kadesh in which it seems Ramesses II was singularly successful in combating the hostile Hittite forces
(though the Hittites tell a very different tale), to the overthrow of the Hyksos in Dynasty 15 and much more besides. The group's leader
Bucephalus Alexandros leads a lively discussion.
Scribe Onions Hatshepsut reminds this editor that
new group Food For Thought is proving to be a very popular one.
The group's leaders Akhenaten Horemheb and
Neferaset Ahhotep promote discussion on a host of food-related areas.
Those whose interests lie in things gastonomical and historical would do well to check out this burgeoning group!
Nebmaatre Thutmose is now running a very lively
trivia in Egyptomania based on correctly identifying
Egyptomaniac films and the actors who starred in them. Nebet Lotus Horemheb
has just posed the latest question - this editor feels certain that the ruggedly handsome pharaoh in the nemes headgear just has to be that bald
fellow, Whatzisname...? Know the answer? Take a punt!
So, as you can see, the shifting sands of Egypt hold much to discover for resident and foreign wanderer alike. Come sample
some persea wine and dates as the sun goes down on one of the mightiest and most ancient of 'ancient worlds'.
