A request for posts and articles!
Of course, a STOA is nothing without people who share information and contribute to the fine task of erecting a building of science, knowledge, wisdom, culture and art!
All members are free to post anything they find or know about Greek culture and even about cultures known to the Greek world!
So, hit the keys!

Welcome to Hap, Phaedra and Reylari!
Welcome, Hapshetsut Nebet, Phaedra Duilius and Reylari Socrates, to this haven for the ancient Greek scientists, wise and art lovers in AW! Please, introduce yourself at the introduction board (Neo Phoitetes Eimi) to tell us a bit about yourself. And please, donate all you know about Greek culture and art to our boards! There are several Stoai to discuss the goodies!

Yours,

Tanaquil

A call to all of you members!
    And it is this:

We need to get the boards filled, of course. But this group is not my trip (it isn't????? NO, IT ISN'T, *s*).

So, what I would like is, that everyone who wants to post about certain aspects of ancient Greek culture, knowledge, science, wisdom and art, no matter what kind of message or shareware information it is (as long as it has a serious tone and is not offensive), it is welcome! And please, no one has to tell anyone that he or she doesn't KNOW enough! Rearing information through a question is the greatest slingshot of interest anyone can arouse. I guess it's the only way we can set off this huge undertaking here...So, as the ancient Athenians used to work in the Stoa, let's do it here:

If you have any questions about certain aspects of ancient Greek culture, please post them in the various boards and apply for an answer from anyone who does know...

New feature: FEATURED POST OF THE MONTH
Next to the fact that some graphics have been made to boost up the image of our Stoa, another feature has been introduced: The Featured Post of the Month!

The philosophos, Stoikos and Grapheus are entitled to choose a featured post of the month each month, which will be highlighted in the Great Stoa's main page. The author of this featured post will be upgraded, preliminary to the degree of psefikos.
This month, January 2004, Reylari Socrates'post has been chosen to be featured for one month in the Stoa's main page. Reylari wil be upgraded to psefikos. Congrats, Reylari! And thank you for your post!

Welcome, Thyra Cleisthenes!
Get your gulp of retsina in the taverna next to the Great Stoa and joing the dancing, singing and clapping of hands, before we get serious in here!

Tanaquil,

The Etruscan Stoicist.

Thank You
Thank you very much for your kind welcome. I am very happy to be part of such an interesting group. Although this is my first post,( I have been quite busy the past few days) I hope to post much more soon.

Thank you, Reylari and Louisa!
...for having made a good start in here by posting good links and questions! I tried to give an answer you your question, Reylari, and I think it's great to create a question and answer facility in the Retsina Jar, because with good wine comes good discussion, *s*!

Reylari new leader of The Great Stoa

Congratulations to Reylari Socrates, who has agreed and been promoted to become a Philosophos, i.e. leader of our Great Stoa! Since the moment she joined the group, Reylari has been posting interesting posts and links into the various boards and threads of this group. Now that The Great Stoa has been set up, the time has come for our group to grow and get to prosper. Shared leadership is one step to reach this goal, by co-operation by other group members and getting more AW members interested in The Great Stoa and it's objects of study is another important pilar on which growth and thriving rests! Some of you members might be asked to take a board or thread under your care and to come up with ideas and suggestions for building up and improvement...We will keep you posted on this..*s*

Tanaquil Sergius,

h.t. Philosophos
